In ~/Library/Application Support/audacity I see libs > libmp3lame64bit.dylib Error Importing message: It's an "Advanced Audio Coding file, I need the optionalFFmpec library. It says "The installation was successful."īack to step 1. I double-click the installer: lame_64bit_osx.pkg.

I'm taken to "RECOMMENDED download:lame_64bit_osx.pkg" I'm taken to: "Installing the FFmpeg Import/Export Library on Mac" "For full instructions please see Installing FFmpeg for Mac." Under "How do I download and install the FFmpeg Import/Export Library?" I see "Mac: See the FFmpeg installation section" Up comes "FAQ:Installation, Startup and Plug-ins." I click the words "FFmpeg library" which is a link. Under Importing Audio in the page that comes up, I see "You can install the optional FFmpeg library to import a much larger range of audio formats including AC3, AMR(NB), M4A, MP4 and WMA"

I click the little question mark in the error dialog. I am trying to import an m4a file into Audacity. This is getting pretty complicated, but I'll try to write this as briefly as possible.
